2013 TxA Interactive Conference Proceedings

The TxA Series brings advanced digital exploration into dialog with practice contexts with a focus on computational design processes and digital fabrication.

Our contribution, "Toward a Pedagogy of Material Systems Research" co-authored by Sean Ahlquist, Catie Newell, Geoffrey Thün and Kathy Velikov aligned with the creation of the MS_DMT program at the University of Michigan's Taubman College. The text draws on aspects of the work of its authors to outline a model for research and design inquiry in the digital making space that we anticipated might begin to lay a framework for new methodologies across materially based computational design work.
